Legendary Tip of the Day: The Toothpick Screw Fix
Wooden toothpick being inserted into a stripped screw hole
We have all found a screw that just spins in place because the wood hole is stripped. You do not need a larger screw. Dip a wooden toothpick in wood glue and jam it into the hole. Snap off the excess, let it dry, and drive the original screw right back in. The screw bites into the new wood and holds tight.

Man doing a pectoral stretch in a doorway frame
We spend a lot of time hunching forward, which tightens the chest and rounds the shoulders. Stand in an open doorway. Place your forearms on the door frame with your elbows at shoulder height. Gently lean forward until you feel a stretch across your chest. Hold for 30 seconds to help your posture stand tall again.

Hobby Spotlight: Restore a Cast Iron Skillet

If your skillet has rusty spots or food sticking to it, you can bring it back. Scrub it down with coarse salt or a steel wool pad to remove the grime and rust. Rinse it, dry it completely on the stove, and rub on a thin layer of oil. Bake it upside down in the oven for an hour to reset that tough black coating.
