Hey fellas,
It's Friday, February 20, 2026, and I hope the day is treating you right.
Today I've got a simple way to drill through tile without cracks, a fast one-leg balance check, and a tough little spaceflight that proved we could hang in orbit.

Legendary Tip of the Day: Drill Tile Without the Heartbreak
Hands drilling a clean hole through wall tile
Put masking tape right where the hole goes. It helps the bit grip and not skate. Match the bit to the tile. Carbide is fine for ceramic, but diamond is the safer bet when you are not sure. Start slow with light pressure. If its porcelain or glass, keep a little water on the bit so it stays cool.

Timeless Tale: On This Day - Friendship 7 Makes America an Orbital Nation (1962)
A Mercury capsule in flight above Earth
On this day in 1962, John Glenn rode Friendship 7 into orbit and proved the U.S. could run a full mission around Earth. Mid-flight, controllers saw a signal that hinted his heat shield might not be secure. Glenn stayed steady and kept flying the plan. The splashdown and recovery details are the kind of calm problem-solving you want in your back pocket.

Health Hack for Legends: The 10-Second One-Leg Check (1 minute)
Person doing a safe one-leg balance stand near a counter
Stand next to a counter so you can grab it if you need to. Keep your eyes open. First, hold three simple positions for 10 seconds each: feet together, then one foot a little in front, then heel-to-toe. If those feel steady, lift one foot and try for 10 seconds. Switch sides. A light fingertip touch is fine.

Hobby Spotlight: A French Cleat Wall for Your Tools
Workshop wall with French cleats holding tools neatly
A French cleat is just two boards with matching 45-degree bevels that lock together. It holds heavy stuff better than pegboard. Build a few horizontal cleats, then make simple holders you can move around anytime. Dont skip material choice: for heavier tools, 3/4-inch plywood is the strong, steady option.

Because it heard the tile work might get a little wet.
Stay sharp out there, gents.
